Whether you're planning a Valentine's Day dinner or a Galentine's Day brunch, this flower heart is SURE to make a statement! All you need is a chicken wire frame and you can choose to either use real flowers or fake ones to last longer.
Make your chicken wire frame. For instructions, see our other blog post here.
Needle Nose Pliers
Empty picture frame
Hot glue gun
If you are using fake flowers like we did, pull the bud off of the stem so you only have the bud itself (see photos below for close-ups). We were able to score some great fake flowers from the dollar store, bringing our project budget way down (which is always a bonus!). Once you've removed all of the stems, lay them flat on the frame in the shape that you want; you can choose to do a heart outline like we did or fill it in.
Once you have your outline, take your hot glue gun and glue each flower to the chicken wire and the flowers next to it, trying to follow the horizontal pattern of the chicken wire. For a fuller look, try to glue them closely to each other, filling in as needed. Make sure to put a drop cloth underneath the frame so you don't get any glue on your table.
Once you've glued all of your flowers, clean off the hot glue "wispies" and you're finished!
